Gossip Girl Sneaks: Blair and Serena, College Rivals?
Check it out: Our favorite Upper East Siders are heading out of town again, but instead of the Hamptons, next Monday Serena, Blair, Chuck, Nate and Dan head to New Haven, Conn., to check out Yale University.
Check out the Gossip Girl preview vid above and the three below to see that Ivy League education is a real turn on for our girl Blair...
The Gossip Guys Do Details
Let's face it. Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick are the real reasons everyone tunes in to Gossip Girl each week, right?
Now before some of you get your preppy boxers all up in a bunch, we certainly don't mean any disrespect to the ladies—Blake Lively, Leighton Meester and Taylor Momsen—who obviously bring plenty to the Upper East Side table. But c'mon, the boys are what keep things oh-so-interesting.
So imagine our squealing delight when we saw this eye-candy concoction on the cover of the new Details, which begs the question: Which Gossip guy is your fave?
As you mull that over, we're just gonna keep ogling. After all, we declared our love for a certain someone not too long ago.
Sneak Peeks: Gossip Girl Here...
Gossip Girl is sooo delicious, no? Waiting a whole week for a new installment of life with our favorite Upper East Siders is just plain hard. Thank goodness for sneak peeks to tide us over!
In Monday's ep, "The Serena Also Rises" (hee), Serena (Blake Lively) is becoming a big-deal socialite, which means Blair is no longer the unquestioned queen of all she surveys. Ruh-roh.
Press play above to see Chuck (Ed Westwick)and Blair (Leighton Meester) go at it (no! not like that!), and then drop inside for three more previews of the all-new Gossip Girl ep premiering on the CW on Monday night at 8.
Drew Barrymore Is Now in Gossip Girl Land Making Out With the Real Chuck Bass
In one of the strangest pairings of Drew Barrymore’s serial monogamist career, the actress was spotted, photographed and subsequently blogged about clinched in a conspicuous concert makeout session with Gossip guy Ed Westwick. (However, we are talking about a woman once married to Tom Green, so maybe it’s not that strange?)
Her rep had no comment on the reported smooch.
The weirdest part is probably the 12-year age difference between the 33-year-old rom-com sweetheart and the 21-year-old actor who plays sleazy but totally awesome Chuck Bass. Maybe we're blowing this a bit out of proportion (after all, we do have a supercrush on Mr. Bass, so we're protective), but should we be concerned?
Drew's not old by any means, but something about it comes off a little cougarish, and for Ed it's probably not the best idea to make it big by hooking up with Drew. Look how that worked out for Justin Long—he's still just the Mac dude who now sometimes gets to hang out with Kirsten Dunst.
What do you think? Does this pairing get the E! Online commenter seal of approval, or should they go looking elsewhere for that special concert makeout partner next time?
Leighton Meester Is Humble, Not Like Blair at All
Any hopes we had that Leighton Meester would be as awesomely bitchy as her Gossip Girl alter ego have been dashed by a recent OK! interview, in which she was supernice.
Of her newfound fame. Leighton says: “It’s changed everything for the better. It's different, but I'm happy. This is the best life that I could ask for, and it's more than I thought it could be. I remember looking through magazines or watching movies even just a couple of years ago and being like, 'I really want to be part of that,' but not realizing what that was. I didn't understand it and now this is my life and it's so funny! I couldn't be happier.”
There were no complaints about the media being annoying and all up in her bidness or missing her privacy or even hating on Blake Lively. Rats! While it's refreshing to hear a celeb be so humble, we live for the juice. Let's go find America Ferrera and talk some crap!
Blake Lively Invites Gossip at Retro Bash
Blake Lively just turned 21, but she still seems stuck in the '20s.
The Gossip Girl starlet and all her castmates celebrated with a 1920s-themed bash at the Palace Hotel, natch. The birthday girl planned the entire soiree herself.
"I love to plan parties," Blake told Life & Style. "That would be my career if I wasn't an actress."
Soulful singer Michael Bublé serenaded her with a special version of "Happy Birthday to You," while guests downed peach mimosas.
Lively, who doesn't like to drink, toasted with Coca-Cola, instead of the other bubbly beverage.
And any news about Penn Badgley, with whom she's linked both on and off camera?
"They were very cozy," according to an onlooker.
Boys Like T-800s; Gossip Girls Not-So Much
Men are from Skynet. Women are from the Constance Billard School for Girls.
That's one way to read last night's inaugural matchup of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and Gossip Girl.
Fox's sci-fi-wired Terminator scored more young men, ages 18-34, than any show in the 8-9 p.m. time slot, Nielsen Media Research estimates said. The CW's fashionable Gossip Girl ruled with young women.
But when it came to wooing the opposite target-audience sex, both shows largely struck out.

Leighton Meester's Ex-Con Mom Books Herself
Lynne Spears isn't the only celebrity mom coming out with a memoir.
E! News has learned exclusively that Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester's mother, Connie Meester, who gave birth to her daughter while doing time in a Texas prison for a drug-related crime, may soon be coming to a bookshelf near you.
Connie's manager, Loch Powell, confirms that Mama Meester has penned "a memoir" about her family life that began as a screenplay "three or four years ago," but that she has yet to find a publisher.
The book will reportedly tell Connie's life journey from drug-ring co-conspirator to suburban real estate agent to author and, of course, to the rearing of her TV star child.
Gossip Girls Come to 30 Rock!
It's true!
Inside sources have confirmed that Leighton Meester and Blake Lively will be guest starring on NBC's 30 Rock this season, playing former high school acquaintances of Tina Fey's character, Liz Lemon, in what is currently slated to be the fourth episode and will air in November.
Insiders are spilling exclusive details of how it went down and what they'll play...
Gossip Girl Hits Its Target
Nonstop chatter does a Gossip Girl good.
The CW series, which has seemed to generate more press than viewers, got off to a solid start last night, averaging 3.4 million for its second-season premiere, Nielsen Media Research estimates said.
Overall, a jackpot-hitting Deal or No Deal won the night in so-so fashion, while a new TNT drama debuted in record-setting fashion.
Gossip Girl Foe Targets 90210
Gossip Girl's reputation is proceeding 90210.
A leading watchdog group that has been critical of Gossip Girl today warned advertisers about committing sight unseen to the upcoming Beverly Hills 90210 reboot.
"I think it's fair to say that the CW has been a bad actor, particularly when it comes to Gossip Girl," said Dan Isett, director of public policy for the Parents Television Council.
Both Gossip Girl and 90210 are CW shows.
Last week, the network confirmed it wasn't sending out advance copies of 90210, which is scheduled to premiere Sept 2. The CW described the move as a "strategic marketing decision."
What Planet of Awesome Did Ed Westwick Come From?
As our Gossip Girl countdown continues (seven days remaining!), we were more than giddy when Page Six Magazine featured Ed "Chuck Bass" Westwick this weekend. We have to run their names together because it's impossible to separate the real person from the character—they're both so pompous and charming at the same time.
Here's an example: Ed punctuates every sentence with "baby," which seems a little douchey, right? But then we remember it's Ed Westwick who would be saying it in an English accent and with that style of his that allows him to pull off Chuck Bass' ridiculous costumes so effortlessly. Then it just drives us crazy—in a good way. Yeah, we're crushing hard.
Before we completely embarrass ourselves, let's get to his quotes in the magazine, most of which had us swooning. Jump with us...
